New Chevy Tires

While it would be excellent for car parts to stay in great condition forever, eventually, many of them wear out. If you’ve had your Chevy vehicle for a while and haven’t needed much beyond oil changes, that time will almost certainly be coming soon. These are the three Chevy parts that generally wear out the fastest.

Windshield Wipers

Windshield wipers prove the adage that you get what you pay for. A cheap set may wear out within three months, but even the more expensive wipers will only last a year at most. Precipitation and sunlight take a toll on plastic and rubber, so inspect your wipers regularly.

Battery

Car batteries will last five to six years if they’re correctly maintained. Summer heat causes self-discharge, so regular cleanings and maintenance are a must if you don’t want your car to sit dead in your driveway on the first cold morning of the year. Have your battery tested regularly to see if it needs a supplemental charge or replacement.

Tires

Tires also prove that you get what you pay for; they can last up to 50,000 miles under normal use. Buy cheap tires or fail to rotate them, and you may find they need replacement much sooner – closer to 20,000 miles. Having the tires rotated and inspected with each oil change is a good idea.
