I recently brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Overall, the service itself was completed as expected, and I appreciated that the work was done satisfactory. However, the customer service experience—particularly when it came time to pick up my vehicle, left something to be desired. I originally purchased my vehicle at Phelps, so I came into this visit with an expectation of continuity in professionalism and communication. After being told that my car was out there in a row of cars then I had to walk out into the parking lot to locate it myself. While I don’t mind walking, not being told the exact location of my vehicle felt careless and unprofessional. It may seem like a small detail, but those kinds of moments make a big difference in how valued a customer feels. A little more direction or courtesy in that moment would’ve gone a long way. That said, the staff inside were polite, and the actual service done to my vehicle appears to be solid. I just hope to see improvement in communication and customer care during the pickup process moving forward.

I went in last Friday morning for routine maintenance and something else. My appointment was at 7:30am and I arrived just before that. My car was taken to the back right away. I am not referencing the most recent service (2018 Impala) but rather the one prior. As I always do, I took our 2016 Suburban in for an oil change and tire rotation. I have asked in the past if the technician checks other items that may need service and was told that they do check various fluids etc. Less than 200 miles after the service, the front brake pads started to dig into the rotors. I thought this would be bought to my attention at the time of service. I had to replace both rotors due to the gouging that occurred from the metal on metal contact. I originally scheduled with Phelps to do the repair but after thinking about it I had it repaired somewhere else. Why should I have trusted Phelps to do the repair when they missed this issue when rotating tires? We have bought our last three vehicles from Phelps and have always been treated very good from what I can tell, until this happened. I think something as simple as a visual inspection while the tire was off would have easily discovered this needed repair. Disappointed.

Great customer service per usual. One thing that the dealership could improve upon is to provide a breakdown (checklist) of the components that were looked at during the standard maintenance, I.E, current tire tread depth, brake life, filters, etc. Simple “Red, Yellow, Green” check boxes for all the components would work just fine. That would help the customer know what to expect moving forward, and when these components might need replacing.

So it was nice and straight forward. Went in and talked about the issue and asked for an inspection and then it was taken care of. Was called hours later saying that the service was done and free of charge. The only issue though is that although they tightened something in my suspension; the issue I originally have is still present in my truck and wasn’t fixed. So I guess what I thought the noise to be is just a quirk of the truck since it was found to be having no issues after the inspection. Idk, if it was a good expedience and straight forward at least.

"Service door latch system". Just about 3,000 miles on truck. Passenger doors and tailgate would not lock. Dropped off vehicle on a Friday. Part came in the next Wednesday. Got truck back the next Tuesday. Same message on truck now and passenger doors do not lock. Have to make another appointment to fix it again.

I was relieved at how professional honest no bs with this dealership. I love the fact they are a family owned and separate from the others. Originally I was looking at ford because I had already had a ford vehicle. Unfortunately the vehicle I wanted was not available in the time frame I needed. (Ps- they too were fantastic). I found a vehicle online at my nearest Chevy dealership which my husband got his truck from ( horrible dealership) and went down to inquire and get the numbers to make sure I stayed within a budget. Needless to say I walked and didn’t go back. Fast forward I found the same or similar model truck online at Phelps in Greenville. Since the inquiry everyone involved as professional sweet and knowledgeable. I got paired up with dave O and we had a great conversation. I was upfront and blunt with him as far as sales pitch and all I wanted was to get the numbers for the vehicle to make sure I can afford the truck. He was fantastic! He explained everything to me and made sure I was comfortable and I understood how things went. They kept in contact with me on the availability of the vehicle until I could make it there. I drove two and a half hours to purchase the vehicle. That is how impressed and important It was that this dealership was the one I wanted to do business with. They listened to my concerns I questioned the numbers or things I didn’t understand with the numbers and they took the time to explain and answer. I wish I found them sooner when buying my husbands vehicle. All in all again, I can’t thank everyone at the dealership enough for making the experience a better one. I highly recommend anyone who wants hassle free no pushy buying to go to them.

I was trying not to write this letter, but you have contacted me three times. Therefore, with a heavy heart I will tell you why, I only gave you one star. On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, I took my car to my dealership for an oil change, inspection, and a tire rotation. The first two service were very good, but with the tire rotation, the mechanic damage my sensor to tell the driver how much air is in the tires. Before I left the parking lot upon receiving my car, I noticed that I could not read my tire air pressure. I immediately without leaving took the car back to the dealership, and the attendant said it was damaged and could not read the air pressure in the tires. I told him that I checked the air pressure upon driving into the lot of the dealership and it was working fine when I turned over the car to the dealership. Therefore, someone at the dealership damage the sensor. The attendant said it would cost nearly $70 fir a new sensor and $30 for the labor. I explained that I believe the dealership should cover the repair since it was broke while on their job. Therefore, I cannot give you this time many stars, because I believe the dealership should honor all the damage they do to their customer's vehicle.

This is the 3rd Traverse I have bought from Phelps Chevrolet in Greenville NC. I have never had any issues with anyone at Phelps. I always let them handle my service issues. I have loved both previous vehicles. Thomas Cayton is sales and Sam (don’t know last name) in service are my favorites. I’m not sure about this one yet since it is a 4 cylinder. It’s a little “whiny” when accelerating quickly. Maybe I will get used to it.

The work done on my Silverado (torque converter replacement) seems to have solved my issues. Losing the torque converter at 96k has me jacked up, but it’s an 8L90 transmission…so I probably had it coming. That said, I found the customer experience at the dealership to be lacking. Notified my vehicle was ready, I went to the service desk. I was redirected to the cashier counter where the employee fumbled around to verify I had already paid the invoice online. I was then handed the key and a printed receipt, without any further direction. Perhaps I inconvenienced her… I walked back to the service counter and showed I had the key. Grumpy says, “It’s out that door. Walk left.” I exited the building for 100 yards to retrieve by truck, which by the way it was in the lot was parked in haste. The truck was dirty and had guano on it. After dropping $3550 at the dealership, I’d think a service manager would talk with me, the truck might be returned cleaned up and/or I wouldn’t need to hike to retrieve it myself. None of these “little” things are difficult, but all seem to be unimportant to the dealership. This might explain why I own 2 Mercedes and 1 Chevy (and I’ve been a Chevy guy all my life.) Customers care isn’t difficult!

I had an appointment last week for an oil change and tire rotation. My wife went and waited for the vehicle to be serviced and was happy with everything until the next day when I got an alert that the tires hadn’t been rotated. I call and got another appointment for yesterday and was a little surprised there was a charge. Not that I expected a free service but assumed it was done the first time and paid for. At the very least some courtesy for the now second trip and hour or so of waiting. This won’t in anyway affect us using Phelps just a note of our recent experience.

Dealership opens at 8:30am, but everyone was in meetings until 9am. My wife and I came in at 8:40 ready to purchase a 2026 LT trail boss, but had to stand in the lobby waiting till 9am to be helped. If you open at 8:30, then employees and managers should be fully ready to work at 8:30am. Everything else was amazing and quick, but it would be more professional to have meetings completed before opening time.

The installation of new tires went without a hitch. However, when the bill was received it gave a discount using Chevrolet points, but upon paying I was told I my number. Why does the dealership not have my number. I was not aware that I needed to know my number. I think this is crazy. It should be stated that to use such points I, the customer has to present this information that should be in the dealership's data base.

I asked them when they rotated tires to check air pressure and fill them to 41 lbs because that is what is needed. When I got in the car all of the tires were still 4 to 6 lbs low. I guess that is not included in tire rotation even when asked.

I arrived at the dealership about 10 minutes before the appointment and was immediately greeted and checked in by the service attendant. I proceeded to the lounge area to wait for the services to be performed on my vehicle. In a little over an hour I saw my vehicle pulled up to where I checked in. They were completed with my service. I proceed to check out to pay. I was greeted and helped by Giana. She has helped me before. This young lady is always very polite and helped me redeem my GM Points and finished the transaction. Can't say enough about Phelps Chevrolet. Start to finish, it was a smooth experience. No "bs" type tactics at all. Im from out of town (3 hours away). They did alot to accommodate me to make sure we had everything figured out before I got there. I really appreciated my sales guy David. I was very clear about what I wanted and expected, as far as what truck and the deal I wanted. He delivered. Didn't use any of those sales "tactics" we all have come to expect from dealerships. When it came time to sign the documents, finance guy was aweome too. Didn't try to ram GAP or other coverage down my throat, awesome guy, made it super easy. Overall I couldn't be happier, got a great truck at a price I was comfortable with. I will be contacting them again, not only for me and my families needs but for my companies needs as well.

I liked that the dealership was small and I was immediately greeted by Allen and he had Chris help me with test driving an Equinox. I was unsure of the interior. There was not a car on the lot with the interior I wanted. They found a car at a nearby shop that was getting a trailer hitch installed. I went and looked at the interior. Then found the perfect car and it was delivered the next day.

Everything was good up until they forgot to install my new battery which resulted in an additional 80 mile round trip back to Greenville. They didn't forget to charge for it on the bill though. You would think for a customer who just dropped over $2000 cash for a complete 100k service job, that you would have offered the 40 buck installation fee back, a set of wipers,,,,, something. Half a day gone & 80 miles on the odometer. Makes one wonder, just what else I didn't get on that 2K service.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience at Phelps Chevrolet in Greenville, North Carolina. I worked with Joseph while buying a new Tahoe, and he made the entire process smooth and quick. He got us in and out very efficiently, which we really appreciated. After getting the vehicle home, we noticed a few blemishes in the bodywork. Mr. Phelps was extremely understanding and willing to help get them fixed or even swap us into a different vehicle if needed. Buying my car was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Even something as simple as ordering and picking up my mats was handled seamlessly by Chris, who provided excellent service. Receiving the Chevy gifts and thank-you note in the mail was also a very thoughtful touch that made the dealership experience feel even more special. Unfortunately, my service experience did not match that same level of care and clarity. As a first-time service customer, I was unsure where to go, where to park, or what steps to follow. There was no clear guidance upon arrival or during pickup, and no one explained the work that was completed on my vehicle in terms that were easy to understand. While I reviewed the invoice, I ultimately had to search online to fully understand what had been done. I would strongly suggest that when customers purchase a vehicle—especially first-time buyers or those unfamiliar with the dealership—they are offered a brief overview or “mini tour” of the service process. This would help prevent confusion and make future visits much more comfortable. When I arrived for service, I followed the directional signs and waited in my car, assuming someone would come out to assist me, as I had seen happen with the car in front of me. After waiting about 10 minutes, I went inside to ask what to do next. Later, when I returned after receiving the notification that my vehicle was ready, I used the service entrance, not realizing there was a different process for picking up keys and paperwork at the front kiosk. I then had to walk around the building to locate my car, ultimately using my key fob to find it. After getting into my car, I noticed my phone was no longer connected, which led me to again review and research the invoice to determine whether the liftgate repair involved a software reset or a mechanical fix. A brief explanation from the service team would have been very helpful in that moment. One additional suggestion would be to consider having a woman available in the service intake area. While the staff I interacted with were polite, it can sometimes feel intimidating to ask questions when you are unsure, and some customers may feel more comfortable seeking clarity from another woman. Overall, my purchasing experience was excellent, but improving communication and guidance during the service process would make the overall customer experience just as strong.

I showed up on a day my appointment was not scheduled for and they fit me in anyway. I was scheduled to bring my car in for an oil change the following Friday but since I was already there, they kept my car with no promises of getting my services done that day. Although I didn't get my car back until the end of the day, I didn't mind at all. I always get great service when I go to Phelps.

It was the best experience I have ever had buying a new vehicle. Chris Evans was my sales rep, and he was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Chris worked hard to gain my loyalty and trust. I feel like Chris did an outstanding job. It was the first time I ever made a vehicle purchase on the same day, Because I usually wait a day to make sure it exactly what I want. Chris made my wife and I feel like a valued customer, and he also helped us pick out the proper chevy floor liners, cargo liners, window vents, and front license holder and ensured they were installed when we came back to pick up our new Suburban. Also, the rest of the team at Phelps Chevrolet made it easy to get everything done quickly.
