The midsize SUV segment is now as crowded as ever. If you’re having trouble deciding between the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia, this comparison can help. See how they match up in terms of:

Power

The Chevy Traverse has exceptional power – it comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower, along with 266 lbs.-ft. of torque. This is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available. The base engine in the GCM Acadia is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder that offers 228 horsepower and 258 lbs.-ft. of torque. You would need to go with the available 3.6-liter V6 to match the 310 horsepower the Chevy Traverse produces.

Cargo Room

You will not find another midsize SUV that offer more cargo space than the Chevy Traverse. You will get 23 cubic feet behind the back seats, 57.8 cubic feet when they are down, and 98.2 cubic feet with both rows folded. The GMC Acadia offers 12.8 cubic feet behind the third row, 41.7 cubic feet when it’s folded, and 79 cubic feet with all back seats down.

Tech

The Chevy Traverse is one of the most tech-savvy SUVs available. It comes with a very user-friendly infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen, along with:

  • Six USB ports
  • Push-button start
  • Wireless Android Auto™
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay®
  • Satellite radio
  • A Wi-Fi hot spot
  • A six-speaker stereo
  • Bluetooth®
  • Proximity keyless entry

The GMC Acadia comes with some of the same features. However, proximity keyless entry isn’t among them. Plus, there are only five USB ports.
