People shopping for a car always have different amenities they look for. Most of them these days, however, do have one must-have feature in mind: good gas mileage. With prices through the roof, everybody is very conscious of the amount of money they spend at the pump.

This why Chevy models are in hot demand. However, this doesn’t mean you have to buy a new car; a used Chevy can give you just what you need.

Chevy Traverse

For the midsize SUV class, the 2022 Chevy Traverse gets great gas mileage: 18 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway with front-wheel drive. If you opt for all-wheel drive, those go down to 17/25 MPG city/highway.

And if you were to pick a 2019 model, guess what? Those numbers are exactly the same.

Chevy Trax

The 2022 Chevy Trax is a subcompact SUV that gets 24 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway with front-wheel drive. Those drop to 23/30 MPG city/highway with all-wheel drive. The numbers aren’t much different for the 2021 model: 26/31 MPG city/highway with front-wheel drive and 24/29 MPG city/highway with all-wheel drive.

Chevy Tahoe

You’ll get 16 MPG in the city and 20 MPG on the highway with the 2022 Chevy Tahoe. And if you go with the 2021 model, your gas mileage will be exactly the same.

While fuel economy does get better with newer cars, the changes are typically pretty small. This means you won’t sacrifice much – if anything – if you choose an older model. If you’re ready to buy, come down to Phelps Chevrolet in Greenville, NC to see what’s in stock.
