Towing Power

While both models fall into the light-duty truck category, one has higher capabilities. The Chevy Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds when properly equipped. The RAM 1500 can’t quite stack up, offering a maximum available 12,750-pound towing capacity.

Versatility

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has many options available to choose from, including a Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab. These seat three, five, or six passengers, respectively. The RAM 1500 is only available in two cab sizes that seat either five or six passengers and offers no Regular Cab option.

Cargo Space

The RAM 1500 has only two choices for pickup beds, one measuring 5 feet 7 inches and the other coming in at 6 feet 4 inches. They fall short of the Chevy Silverado 1500 options, which include 5-foot 8-inch, 6-foot 6-inch, and 8-foot beds. To put this in perspective, the largest Chevy Silverado 1500 bed can carry up to 89.1 cubic feet of cargo, while the RAM 1500 manages only 68.5 cubic feet with its largest option.

Tech Features

The Chevy truck has a seven-inch infotainment screen, standard wireless smartphone integration, and an available 13.4-inch touchscreen. The RAM truck has a five-inch standard screen, no wireless smartphone mirroring, and smaller upgrade screens measuring 8.4 or 12 inches.
