Happy that the cooler weather has finally arrived? We certainly are. And while temperatures will still be high for a little while, things will get a lot milder as we get deeper into fall. And, because you may be doing a lot more driving thanks in part to school being back in session, you have to make sure your car is ready for the season. Our Chevy service center offers these tips:

Check the Belts and Hoses

The rubber that belts and hoses are made of can get damaged when temperatures get high. This is why now is a good idea to see what summer may have done to them. If anything is frayed or cracked, it should be repaired or replaced.

Inspect the Battery

With colder temperatures coming, that means your battery will need to work harder to get your car started. This is why it is worth having it checked to see what kind of charge it has left. Batteries only typically last about five years before needing to be replaced, which is important to keep in mind.

Top Off the Fluids

When’s the last time you checked your fluid levels? In order to give you optimal performance, there are many systems in your car that rely on fluids at the proper levels. These include the transmission, brakes, and power steering. You also can’t forget about the coolant and windshield washer fluid.

These are just a few of the important service tasks you should think about having done soon. No matter what you need, you can get it at the service center at Phelps Chevrolet in Greenville. Get in touch to schedule an appointment.
