2024 Chevy Silverado EV

If you plan on buying an electric truck this year, there are now several different models to choose from. Looking at two pickups head-to-head can help you decide which is best for your needs. Here, Phelps Chevrolet compares the Chevy Silverado EV to the Ford F-150 Lightning.

Power and Driving Range

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV has outstanding power. It comes with two electric motors and a battery to generate 510 horsepower. In Wide Open Watts™ (WOW) mode, output briefly increases to 754 horsepower. The Chevy Silverado EV has the longest driving range of any electric truck: 450 miles*. The Ford F-150 Lightning also has two electric motors and a battery, but they only produce 462 horsepower. Plus, it only has a standard driving range of 240 miles.

Tech Features

You’ll find a wide assortment of tech features in the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV. These include navigation, a Wi-Fi® hot spot, and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. You will also get household-style power outlets, keyless entry, and a user-friendly infotainment system with an 11-inch touchscreen that can also be operated with voice commands. The Ford F-150 Lightning has some of the same features, but keyless entry requires an upgrade.

Advanced Safety Features

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV truly excels when it comes to safety. Every model has state-of-the-art systems. These include lane-centering assist, a surround-view camera system, and blind spot monitoring. You will also get:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Forward collision warning
  • Forward automatic emergency braking
  • Pedestrian and cyclist detection
  • Lane departure warning
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Rear-seat alert

The Ford F-150 Lightning has similar features, but lane-centering assist and a surround-view camera system aren’t standard.
